# Checks

> Find passages to improve and handle suggestions in your note

## Turn Checks On or Off

In a desktop browser or the Mac app, click the round check icon at the top of a note to turn Checks on or off. This control isn't available in the iOS app or mobile browsers. Checks supports Japanese and English text.

Checks marks passages such as conflicting numbers, unsupported claims, and unclear wording. Click a mark to see the reason and proposed edit.

## Handle a Suggestion

* Choose "Apply" to use a proposed edit, or "Remove" to use a suggested deletion
* If a question appears, answer it or enter editing instructions in the input box, then send and review the AI Editing result
* Choose "Keep as is" to leave the original text

Checks and applying an existing proposed edit don't use credits. Requesting AI Editing through the input box uses credits according to the model you choose.

## Adjust Suggestions and Check Status

Click the down arrow to the right of the check icon to set "How much to flag" to "Fewer," "Standard," or "More." The on/off setting and suggestion amount apply across your notes.

The check turns green when checking finishes with no suggestions. It won't turn green if checking fails or some paragraphs remain unchecked. Usage limits can leave some paragraphs unchecked.

For a list of feedback on the whole note, use [Review](/en/features/review).
