Which model should I choose?

If you’re unsure, use Auto in AI Assistant to get a recommended model. To choose for yourself, select a model before using AI Assistant, AI Editing, or Inline Generation. Open the model menu for the feature and select the model that fits your task. Inki keeps your last selection for the next request. Review is available only in desktop browsers and the Mac app. Choose its model from the model menu at the top of the Review panel. Available models may change over time. Check the model menu in each feature for the current list.

Can Inki choose a model for me?

Yes. Select Auto in AI Assistant to use a recommended model available on your current plan. On Light, Pro, and Max, Auto can continue with Luna 6 after your credits run out, until you reach the daily limit. In a desktop browser, the Mac app, or a mobile browser, first choose “Continue with the lightweight model.” See Plans & Pricing for how long your choice applies and how the iOS app differs. To use Haiku 5.5 where available, select it in the model menu.

Can I choose models on the Free plan?

Yes. You can choose many models on Free too, including Haiku 5.5 where it’s available in your model menu. Free and trial plans use credits as usual. Opus 5, Opus 5.5, Fable 5.1, Astra 6, and Sol 5.6 require Pro or Max. Models that require a plan upgrade appear locked.

Can I use AI without spending credits?

On Light, Pro, and Max, you can use lightweight models without spending credits up to 300 times per person per day. The number of uses isn’t unlimited. This includes Luna 6 and Haiku 5.5 where it’s available in your model menu. Both models and all three features, AI Assistant, AI Editing, and Inline Generation, share this allowance. It resets at midnight Japan time (JST). This limit helps keep access fair for everyone. Other models and features, and Free and trial plans, use credits as usual. How do I change the reasoning level?

In AI Assistant, AI Editing, or Inline Generation, the model menu shows “Reasoning” (“Reasoning level” in the iOS app and mobile browsers) when the selected model supports it. Choose Low, Medium, High, or Max to control how much reasoning the model can use for the next response or result. Inki keeps your selection for later responses. The available levels depend on the model. Choose from the levels shown in the menu.
